RAMAN DEGA
Mr Raman Dega MBBS, FRCS, FRCS(Orth) is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Wexham Park and Heatherwood Hospitals NHS Trust (now part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust).
He trained on the Royal London Hospital Orthopaedic rotation which included working at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore. During his training he worked for two past presidents of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle society. This influenced Mr Dega to specialize in foot and ankle surgery when he was appointed as consultant in 1998.
Mr Dega specialises in minimal invasive surgery for bunion problems, ankle arthroscopy, ankle fusions and sports injuries of the lower limb.
Mr Dega is a member of The British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, The American Association of Foot & Ankle Surgeons, The Royal College of Surgeons and The British Orthopaedic Association.
Mr Dega maintains a keen interest in research and has published regular articles in medical journals. He is a reviewer for the Foot Journal and for the Bone and Joint Journal. He is a Trainer for Orthopaedics and was a member of the Regional Oxford Orthopaedic Training Committee for ten years. He has previously held the position of Chairman of Medical Staff Committee and Clinical Lead for the Orthopaedics Department at Wexham Park Hospital NHS trust for three years.
He is an elected member of the Scientific Committee for the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society, as well as an examiner for the FRCS orthopaedic exam. He is also an invited speaker at National and International meetings.
Mr Dega is married with two children and his hobbies include tennis, running and travelling.
